PTO Meeting December 1 @ 7 pm in the Media Center

Hello, MV PTO Members!

We hope you had a WONDERUFL Thanksgiving holiday and enjoyed the time off of school and work. We truly have much to be thankful for in an outstanding new school building, and more importantly, the amazing, brilliant, dedicated teachers, administration and staff we have working with our children.  We hope you are as pleased as we are with the overall direction and energy of Mountain Valley thus far!

Meanwhile, it's that time again-- December PTO Meeting is coming up this week, already!  We are back to Wednesday night this month:

Wednesday, December 1
7:00 pm
MV Media Center

We are thrilled to be providing some terrific playground and fundraising updates, as well as announcing our simple, convenient and easy December fundraiser which does not require you to load up the kids and go anywhere...  (you'll already be doing plenty of that for other activities you enjoy this time of year)!  Come see what we're up to and give us your input--we're very excited about this!

Meanwhile, back to giving thanks:  we can't thank our community enough for all your terrific support this year.  THANK YOU!

And...  this is a shout out to our PTO Officers for all their tireless work.  You wouldn't believe how many hundreds of hours --yes hundreds of hours-- your Officers have already put in for our children's benefit, and we thank them so very much. These ladies are AMAZING:

President:  Jennifer Horrocks
Vice-President:  Lauri Thurber
Fundraising:  Kara Green
Treasurer:  Jane Webb

THANK YOU!   And we'll see all you parents, teachers and staff on Wednesday night!

THANKS to the businesses who donated to our Silent Auction!

Here's a shout-out to the following members of our community who so generously donated goods or services to the Silent Auction at your PTO Fall Carnival  (and to Amber Mahoney and her committee for securing all these amazing donations!).

We invite you consider visiting the establishments that are a good fit with your values, and telling the Manager how appreciative you are of their donation to your Mountain Valley PTO Fall Carnival.   (If you are connected to a business which would like to be included in our next Silent Auction, please respond to this message.)

Wouldn't it be grand for local businesses to enjoy a steady stream of customers from Mountain Valley all year long-- all saying "Thank You from Mountain Valley"?

We help local businesses-- and they help us--- it's a win-win.

All for our awesome kiddos-- the MV Mustangs!

"Wendy's Night" a Major Mustang Success!

Thanks to everyone who enjoyed dinner at Wendy's last night.  From all accounts, the restaurant was SLAMMED!   Wahoooo!  Thanks for your patience as they served what appeared to be hundreds of Mountain Valley Mustangs.  Sweet.

We appreciate our MV Community giving a local business a major shot in the arm, as well as appreciate Wendy's contributions to your PTO.  We will post earnings as soon as the figures are available!

THANKS, AGAIN, everyone who came out!  Each dime and dollar counts  hugely toward the Pre-K and K playground, Teacher Appreciation, and more, for your Mustangs!

CORRECTION on Fall Carnival proceeds

I apologize that I misreported the Gross Fall Carnival proceeds as Net proceeds.

The teachers' amount remains the same ($1400) but the PTO net was $2400 instead of $3100 as reported.

Which, folks, is precisely why I am NOT the Treasurer...

So, let's try this again...

Teachers earned   $1,400
PTO earned   $2,400

TOTAL = $3,800!

This is a shout-out to Mrs. Jane Webb, our Treasurer who has dedicated countless hours to keeping our finances pristine and keeping our Secretary on the straight and narrow!

Thanks, Jane!

From Lauri Thurber, MV PTO Vice President:

We are so excited to be starting Homework Club after the Thanksgiving Break!  Students will be able to use this club as an after-school opportunity to get help with homework.  How often it meets will largely depend on how many volunteers we get to help out!

We also need donations of:

  • Snacks: pretzels, animal crackers, etc., small treats or rewards for students who have worked hard.

If you are able to help in any of these capacities, please e-mail us at MountainValleyPTO@gmail.com.

If you have questions you can also contact the following people:
